During the return trip from Douai to Oostende in October 2005 there was dense fog until about 1030 - delaying our arrival. In fact we almost missed the final bridge lift at Plassendale.

This picture was taken as the fog cleared and is of a spits - “Broomstick” - overtaking us on the Leie.

Barges in The Netherlands and Belgium have unusual names!!
