This was taken in August 2005 en route from Brugge to Oostende when we stopped at the pleasure craft berth at Stalhille, a small village midway between the two. The berth is a bit small for us, and is curved.
The group went for a walk in the countryside which is why it is so deserted and peaceful.
The pedestrian bridge in the background is new and a strange design - which unfortunately doesn’t work. The local council is suing the contractors. In the meantime the canal is crossed using the hand driven chain pontoon seen just behind New Petra.
