CANAL GENT TO OOSTENDE APPROACHING MOERBRUGGE, BRUGGE
This picture was taken in October 2006 on the return trip from Douai.
We followed the 2 spits ahead of us all the way from Gent, and as we were in a hurry to arrive in Oostende before the bridges closed for the weekend, they helped us to pass the lifting bridges without the delay usual for a pleasure craft.
On the canal bank by the furthest barge is Marnix Goes who was joining us for the trip from Brugge to Oostende. For the record we passed the last bridge with 15 minutes to spare and breathed a sigh of relief.
